Happy Sunday to all you beautiful glittering Galwegians! It’s another wild day out there today, the perfect weather to go in search of your favourite pub fire and sample the musical delights on offer today. Here are just some of the events taking place across the town:

The 4:30pm The Salthouse Bar Sunday Music Session continues to bring warmth and a touch of class to Ravens Terrace with some of Galways finest Folk musicians making beautiful sounds. Richie Brennan and the Vibe Tribe take to the stage in E-Bruns at 6:30pm to play some mighty fine old school classic Blues and Rock. Sin a Deir Sí kick off with some trad downstairs in Monroe’s Galway at 7pm. Pa Sheil and Fergal McDonagh will be playing all your favourites in the Quays Bar Galway from around 7pm.

Down the road in the Crane Bar you can find Greg Cotter and Mary Flanagan running their super fun Country/Folk session from 9pm. Jade Reynolds and The Rollover take to the stage in Massimo Bar Galwayat 9:30pm

If you happen to be across the river then be sure to drop into Tigh Neachtains and catch the supremely talented bois of the Barnyard Quartet featuring Mark McConville when they perform the finest in rootsy blues from 9:30pm. Turlock Holmes and the tinsel loving member’s of Pyramid will be hotting things up in the Quays bar at around 10:15pm. Karl Clewsand the Superfreaks will be getting it on in the Dail bar from 10:30pm and we will be hitting the stage in the back room of the Róisín Dubh at 12 midnight!

It’s a fine Christmassy bunch of noisemakers I have joining me tonight as we prepare for the upcoming silly season finale. Bringing the pagan gods of old with them this evening, I am delighted to welcome… Bertrand Huvéon sax. Barbara Vulso on vocals. Eoin Mccann on bass. Mark Sullivan on guitar and Banagher blues. Bushkanga Rilla on drums. Gabo GD on flutes. Maciek Zaworonek on harmonica and Eanna Ryder on keys.

So there you have it folks. Plenty of music going on across the day to keep the weary Christmas shopper happy and if you guys make it to the end of the night, we would only love to have the pleasure of your company in the back room of the Róisín Dubh where we will be doing our best to keep Monday at bay for just a little while longer.
