Galway’s live music guide: Sunday 25th November

Happy super sunny Sunday to all you beautiful Galwegians! It’s all blues skies and fresh air out there today as G-town spools up for another round of silly season antics  As always, our musical community is on-hand to provide you with some high quality melodious distraction during the build up. Here are just some of the events going on today:

Legendary The Salthouse Bar Sunday Music Session kicks off at 4:30pm bringing you some of the finest in Folk and Americana songs and featuring the sublime vocal magic of Noriana Kennedy. Richie Brennan and the Vibe Tribe take to the stage in E-Bruns bar at 6:30pm for more old school Rock and Blues. Sin a Deir Sí will be bringing the trad to Monroe’s Galwaydownstairs bar from 6:30pm. Local legends Pa Sheil and Fergal McDonaghwill be playing all your favourites in the Quays Bar Galway from 7pm. The SeshWans will be keeping you warm in The Blue Note Galway from around 7:15pm. Szymon Misniak curates more of the finest local and guest Jazz musicians at the Sunday Jazz session in Il Vicolo at 7:30pm. Mouse McHugh performs his powerhouse set downstairs in Monroes at 8pm

Golden Brown, Strange Little Girl, Always The Sun, Peaches, No More Heroes, Nice & Sleazy….Sound familiar? All big hits, all great songs, all written and sung by Hugh Cornwell who brings his extraordinary show to the Róisín Dubh tonight. Doors at 8pm.

Open Mic Night at Róisín Dubh takes place upstairs at 8:30pm with the always exuberant Steven Sharpe keeping you energised throughout the proceedings. Greg Cotter and Mary Flanagan continue their Country/Folk session in the Crane Bar from around 9pm. Jade Reynolds and the wisemen of The Rollover are on hand to soothe your ears in Massimo Bar Galway from 9:30pm.

If you happen to be across the river then be sure to drop into Tigh Neachtain and catch our dear friend and awesome musician Tom Portmanwith his band of merry men from 9:30pm. Turlock Holmes and the perpetually happy members of Pyramid hit the stage in the Quays Bar Galway at 10:15pm for more high octane shenanigans. Bass virtuoso Karl Clews will be belting out the tunes in the Dail bar from 10:30pm and we will be hitting the stage in the rd at 12 midnight!

So there you have it folks. It’s another jam-packed day of music in Galway and as always, if you guys make it to the end of the night we would only love to have the pleasure of your company in the back room of the Róisín Dubh where we will be doing our best to keep Monday at bay for just a little while longer
