Galway’s live music guide: Sunday 27th May

An especially happy sunny Sunday to all you beautiful and vocal Galwegians !!♥ It’s been an incredible weekend for this little country and our own corner of it, and the celebrations continue throughout today! With this in mind here are some of the musical treats on offer across the city…

It’s the last day of the Galway Early Music festival and there are events taking place across various locations. Check the link for details. The Black Gate Cultural Centre plays host to thCity Cushion Concert: Paul O’Driscoll Trio from 3pm.

The Salt House session continues from 4:30pm with the superb Noriana Kennedy and her musical friends leading the celebrations. Richie Brennan and the members of the Vibe Tribe will be belting out some old school rock and blues in E-Bruns from 6pm. Sunday Jazz at Il Vicolo kicks off around 7pm with Szymon Misniak on drums and special guest Bill Blackmore on trumpet. The Seshwans will be bringing the summer vibes to the garden of The Blue Note Galway from around 7pm. Mouse McHugh performs his powerhouse set in Monroe’s Galway from around 8pm.

The Shacks are ready to perform a kicking set downstairs in Róisín Dubh with doors opening at 8pm. Open Mic Night at Róisín Dubh continues upstairs from 8:30pm with living legends Steven Sharpe and Trass Bee bringing the love!

Greg Cotter and Mary Flanagan continue hosting their Country/Folk session in the Crane Bar from 9pm. If you happen to be across the river then drop into Tigh Neachtain where there’s always something interesting going on in the musician’s corner from around 9:30pm. Pyramid take to the stage in the Quays Bar Galway at 10:30pm while bass virtuoso Karl Clews gets all Superfreaky in The Dáil Bar Galway around the same time. The Lewd Tunes get going in Busker Brownes around 10:45 and we will be hitting the stage in Róisín Dubh for 12 midnight!!
