Former captain of the All-Black U20s and current Connacht Rugby flanker Jake Heenan has joined mental health charity Let’s Get Talking Galway as their ambassador.

The charity has three centres nationwide in Dublin, Donegal and Galway, where their doors opened almost 4 years ago.

“It is a pleasure to work with an organisation which strives to make a meaningful difference to the mental health of Galway,” said Jake on his official appointment last week. “For me personally, there are many positive synergies between myself and what Let’s Get Talking are aiming to achieve. This partnership is a good fit and I am looking forward to getting involved and promoting positivity and balance to those who need a little help.”

The Galway Eye understands that the primary goal of Let’s Get Talking is to help their clients reach positive mental health through counselling and psychotherapy.

Co-founders of the charity, Cyril Hyland and Elaine Ryan, spoke very highly of Jake on his appointment as ambassador. “We are confident that together we can help make a genuine, positive difference to the lives of Irish people by highlighting our service and providing a safe, confidential, non-set fee environment where people realise their more peaceful, confident selves. Jake’s energy and approach to his work perfectly reflect our ethos.”

The Galway Eye would like to wish both Let’s Get Talking and Jake all the very best in their new partnership. You can find out more about the services they provide in Galway at:
